Abstract
This paper aims to develop an extended Third Order 1-point Block Backward Differentiation Formula with Off-Step Point (BBDFO(3)). The method is derived by Lagrange Interpolation using two back values and one off-step point. A BBDFO(3) method is capable to become an alternative solver in solving applied problems of ODEs by implementing Newton’s iteration method. Several application problems are solved in this study such as free falling problem, mixing problem and electrical circuit problem. The performance of the numerical results show that method BBDFO(3) produced better accuracy as compared with other existing methods.
