Numerical evidence for breakdown of soliton behaviour in solutions of the Maxwell-Bloch equations

Abstract

Some results of a numerical study of colliding solitary wave solutions of the Maxwell-Bloch equations are reported. At high densities these pulses do not behave as solitons: on collision they undergo deformations and throw off oscillating tails. © 1977.
