Abstract

We report on laser-induced ?(3)- and ?(2)- nonlinear generation in novel optical ceramics, Ba(Mg,Zr,Ta)O3, with "disordered" Oh5-cubic structure, namely high-order Stokes and anti-Stokes lasing, third- and second-harmonic generation under one-micrometer picosecond pumping. Microhardness and fracture toughness were also measured. © 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
