Abstract
The present invention reduces the noise generated from the drainage of water in drainage systems, and in particular siphonic drainage systems.
The present invention can be retrofitted to any pipe or collection of pipes in a drainage system, except those in a concentric arrangement.
The present invention encourages rainfall flow to start and stop abruptly at certain predetermined points rather than have the rainfall flow tail off, which causes noise.
This is achieved through the fitting of a novel cap over the beginning of the drainage system. By fitting the cap noise is prevented, as the drainage of liquid is essentially switched on and off suddenly, effectively quantising the flow.
