Abstract

We report near-infrared to mid-infrared (1.55 to 3.39 mu m) multimode waveguiding in deep buried channel waveguides fabricated inside rare-earth ion doped ceramic YAG. Waveguiding is achieved by direct laser writing a tubular cladding region.
