Abstract

In this work, we present 2R regeneration of coherent optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) signals with distortion provoked by multiple access interference. The regeneration scheme is based art a Mach-Zehnder interferometer exploiting cross phase modulation in semiconductor optical amplifiers. Erperimental regeneration of on 8 Chip 10 Gb/s OCDMA signal is demonstrated with improvements in the required optical signal-to-noise ratio and elimination of bit error rate floor.
