Abstract

This research explores the way in which military teams make decisions in naturalistic environments. An initial review of the literature surrounding both teamwork and decision making allowed for the development of a model of team decision making; the F3 model. Through the application of the EAST methodology to case studies of decision making the processes involved in team decision making have been explored. This investigation allowed for the F3 models factors to be measured, with quantitative figures provided for a number of the factors as well as qualitatively exploring the way in which the factors interact with one another..
