Mobildade Urbana e a Terceira Idade: O caso do transporte público na cidade de Pelotas

Public transport plays an important role in urban mobility, which is to provide access and allow people’s mobility to their various activities, exercising the right to come and go for each citizen. Therefore, it is extremely important to analyse the ergonomic characteristics of those vehicles in order to guarantee universal accessibility to all users. There is a need to address this issue, focused on the needs of older adults, due to the demographic change that is occurring worldwide, with the global ageing of the population. Through the application of a qualitative methodology (observations and unstructured interviews), we identify and understand the difficulties of passengers and, subsequently, propose solutions that can meet the demands of the target audience. In view of this, greater visibility is sought for situations faced in public transport by a large number of people
