Abstract

For the development of meniscal substitutes and related finite element models it is necessary to know the material properties of the native meniscus and its anchoring attachments. However, during the determination of material properties measurement errors can falsify the results. The aim of this study was to evaluate the metrological and geometrical measurement errors during the determination of the linear modulus of human meniscal attachments.
