Abstract
The limitations of computer-based fire models are considered in very general terms. The main different kinds of deterministic models are considered, that is "zone models" and CFD-based models. The vital importance of the appropriate use of a model and suitable interpretation of results is stressed. Inappropriate use of fire models in fire safety decision-making may be dangerous. Some general conclusions are drawn. © 1996, Baywood Publishing Co., Inc.
