Laser-inscribed Cr: ZnSe channel waveguide lasers

Abstract

We report the characterization of Cr:ZnSe channel waveguide lasers with Watt-level outputs. Waveguides are fabricated via ultrafast laser inscription in polycrystalline Cr:ZnSe samples. The effect of waveguide structure and fabrication on laser performance is investigated.
