Abstract
In a recent paper [1], a new theory of cell surface capping based on the principles of nucleation was proposed. We show how this model can be fitted into the same mathematical framework as the Becker-Döring equations. We show that the equations in the paper have a Lyapunov function and investigate its use in describing the phase transition. © 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
