    Abstract

The compositional reservoir simulation is applied in the design of improved oil recovery (IOR) process by using a single equation of state (EOS) to describe fluid phase behavior and properties within the reservoir. A rapid flash calculation method was evaluated and convergence was improved for gas condensate reservoirs. Temperature dependency function of the attraction term was modified to improve EOS predictions. A tuning method was applied to match the experimental data of different types of fluids. The reliability of the method and the associated saving in computing time was demonstrated for a variety of fluids.
