Abstract
The infrared reflectivity of silver thiogallate, AgGaS2, has been measured in the spectral region 40-400 cm-1. The data have been analysed using classical dispersion theory to give the optical constants, mode frequencies, mode strengths and damping factors. The possible use of AgGaS2 as a suitable mixing material for the generation of far infrared radiation is mentioned. © 1972.
