Abstract

This chapter contributes to the much-needed debate on the role of human capital readiness in organization strategy by offering a workable HC readiness framework. The suggested framework comprises six major steps that an organization can follow for HC readiness. The overarching focus of the proposed framework is to create a linkage between the existing levels of human capital and organizational strategic objectives. It can be done by exploring the types and levels of human capital required to attain the organization's strategic objectives and mapping them with the organization's existing human capital. This strategic exercise allows the organization to assess its present levels of HC against the required. Based upon the level of HC, an organization can align its HC development strategy.
