High power laser emission at 12.812μm from an optically pumped ammonia laser

Abstract

Laser output powers of the order of 200 kW at 12.812 µm have been obtained from NH3 optically pumped by a CO2 TEA laser. A strong dependence of the temporal characteristics of the laser output on the NH3 gas pressure is reported and these results are qualitatively discussed. © 1997.
