Abstract
This report discusses the results of scaling in slab waveguide RF excited CO and CO2 where two fixed excitation frequencies were used, 125 MHz for gaps of 2.0, 1.0 and 0.5 mm, and 250 MHz for gaps of 0.5 and 0.3 mm. Further investigations into the parameters of the alpha type discharge have been undertaken in an experimental discharge cell. These have been combined with laser operating results including resonator loss measurements to generate a model of scaling behavior under the non-similar regime.
