Abstract
This paper aims to address the main criticisms surrounding the advancement and application of Axiomatic Design (AD) in software engineering. It also explores the main challenges of applying AD principles in terms of terminology, agility, and applicability to the design of software systems and examines their implications for software development. Additionally, the paper briefly discusses the Axiomatic Software Architecture (ASA), a method built on AD principles to aid software designers in addressing complexities such as coupling and modularity in much earlier phases of software construction.
