Abstract
Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) are two widely adopted tools, which provide reference points and a measure of the capability required to develop both technology and manufacturing plans. However, both TRL and MRL, developed approximately three decades ago, are inward looking and take little consideration of the supply chain implications in the planning and decision making processes. The purpose of this paper is to propose a new Supply Chain Readiness Level tool to address the limitations of TRL and MRL.
