Abstract
The flow structures of Geldart A particles in a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) was modeled. The constitutive equations for solid stress tensors including inter-particle effects were employed for the development of the model. The solid internal stress tensor was modified with the insertion of a pressure term thereby accounting for the inter-particle forces. The comparisons of model predictions with experimental data established the model's capability in the prediction of real particle behavior.
