Abstract
A direct moment method is employed to examine the electric field distortion, due to mutual coupling, for a longitudinal slot radiator in a linear slotted-waveguide array. A strict solution to the tangential field is obtained by employing a set of basis functions to simulate the field in the slots as a group. It is shown that while the mutual coupling between slots has significant influence on the amplitude of the slot aperture field, it has little impact on the shape of the field, even when the interfering slots are asymmetrically distributed in relation to the slot under examination.
