Abstract

The gradient method which is a conventional Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) method is extended to a Qualitative MRAC (QMRAC) system. A laboratory test rig and models from a binary distillation column verify the approach. The analytical properties of a QMRAC system makes it possible to assess the system performance, e.g. stability measure.
