Abstract
Logic operation, at a single pixel of a nonlinear optical etalon, to give both the SUM (reflected signal) and CARRY (transmitted signal) outputs of full-addition is demonstrated experimentally. An optical circuit that verifies the cascadability of the full-adder output has been constructed and operated. The circuit uses the SUM of one single-digit addition as one of the inputs for a subsequent addition. © 1987.
