Abstract

In today’s increasingly interconnected and fast-evolving world, workplace diversity is no longer a peripheral concern. Instead, it has become central to the organizational growth and resilience. Among the many dimensions of diversity, religious diversity stands out as both deeply personal and socially significant. As religion shapes individual worldviews, values and interactions, it naturally finds expression within professional sphere of lives. However, creating an organizational culture where people of different faiths feel respected and included remains a persistent challenge for many employers. In parallel, gamification broadly understood as the application of game-like elements in nongame contexts has emerged as a dynamic tool for enhancing employee engagement, motivation, and collaboration. While gamification has been widely studied and adopted in various organizational functions, its potential to support diversity and inclusion efforts, particularly in the context of religion, has yet to be fully explored. This chapter addresses that overlooked intersection. It explores how thoughtfully designed gamification initiatives can help foster greater understanding, empathy, and participation among employees from varied religious backgrounds. By integrating principles of gamification with the nuances of religious identity at work, we propose a novel approach to building more inclusive and cohesive workplace cultures.
