Abstract

THz spectrometry measurements often exhibit high uncertainties that have previously been attributed to noise. The normalized uncertainties (1-σ) for three signal processing strategies were evaluated using 40 waveform acquisitions of water vapor (0-3 THz). Time-alignment gives ×80 improvement at 1 THz compared with averaging of all results whereas trace rejection strategies only improve the results by ×3.4.
