    Abstract

    The article analyzes the experience of the city of Edinburgh in implementing measures for the preservation of its cultural heritage. Firstly, the city’s historical evolution is described, from its founding in the 12th century. Next, mention is made of the initiatives undertaken since the 19th century to restore buildings in the Old Town, identifying the main structures, the objectives, and the effects of the applied measures.
