Abstract

By suppressing stimulated processes, we demonstrate the direct generation of orthogonally polarized photon pairs via spontaneous non-degenerate four-wave-mixing (FWM) between orthogonally polarized pumps in a CMOS-compatible micro-ring. Photon coincidences and optical parametric oscillation are measured.
