Abstract

In a rapidly changing, globalised world, the employer of a multinational workplace needs to understand, manage and be able to maximise the benefits of a diverse workplace. The concepts of dignity and diversity in the workplace are critically analysed and discussion of key aspects of employee diversity follows, together with relevant case studies. The implications for employers are discussed throughout. Employment law in relation to workplace discrimination is examined, together with some international comparisons. The considerable benefits of an effectively managed, diverse workforce are highlighted, in relation to productivity, competitiveness and employee well-being.
