Abstract
3D nonlinear finite element numerical simulation for steel fixed connection with flange plate has been carried out. As the main aim the effect of weld geometry with different concepts has been investigated and the model was verified with a test results which were performed in laborartory.
It was shown that the type of electrode and welding procedure has a siginificant effect of seismic performance of this connection. the results also verified with Northridge earthquake experiences in California.
