Abstract

An alternative method of producing a Circularly Polarized (CP) Fabry-Perot Cavity (FPC) antenna, utilizing a high impedance surface (HIS), is proposed. Simulations of a finite antenna with a microstrip patch antenna feed gave a directivity of 21.8 dBi at 15 GHz and a 3dB axial ratio bandwidth of 7% (14.05 to 15.1 GHz).
