Abstract

In this study, a miniature, low-cost and high-performance highpass filter using multilayer liquid crystal polymer (LCP) is presented. High accuracy design process is demonstrated. The fabrication involves our newly developed laser-aided fabrication technique for multilayer LCP devices. Measured result is in good agreement with the simulation. The size of the filter structure is only 0.015λg×0.011λg×0. 0016λg (5.8×4.2×0.6mm3) at the 0.5 GHz cutoff on commercial LCP substrates with low dielectric constant 3.15.
