Abstract

A non-linear model of flashover, FLASHOVER A1, has been used to explore the dependence of the critical fire size necessary for the onset of flashover on the assumed value for the discharge coefficient, C_d. It has been found that, overall, there is a significant dependence on C_d. Experiments should be conducted in order to determine empirically the values of discharge coefficients for different cases.
