Abstract
A matrix decomposition approach is proposed for computer-aided synthesis (CAS) of high-order cross-coupled resonator filters. Useful formulations are derived with a significant reduction of matrix size to be handled by a computer program, which makes the CAS of high-order cross-coupled filters easier and more efficient. For demonstration, the proposed decomposition approach is applied to a 16-pole cascaded quadruplet (CQ) filter having four cross couplings. The numerical results of the CAS are provided, which are readily used for practical filter designs. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
