Deceleration of a supersonic molecular beam in an optical cavity

Abstract

We present a new optical deceleration scheme to slow a supersonic beam to zero central velocity and show that the rapid switching of the optical deceleration force is automatically generated by the cavity-induced dynamics. © 2009 IEEE.
