    Abstract

Numerical studies are demonstrated for the 3D finite element model of Jacket platform. In the structures, damage often causes a loss of stifness in some elements so modal parameters such as natural frequencies and mode shape in the damage damaged structures are different from the undamaged state. Damage location is detected by comuting model strain energy change ratio. It is observed that this method can be used for damage detection of this kind of structures.
