Abstract
This article discusses how scientific research has been engaged to support the development of three cycling products: helmets, speed gel and the chest fairing. The research was mainly based on wind tunnel tests and computer simulations. These three products were chosen because they have a fascinating and very different history, and result from a different interaction between scientific research and product development.
