Abstract

High fidelity phase conjugation (PC) via stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) of continuous wave (CW) Nd:YAG laser radiation in multimode silica fiber was observed. The SBS thresholds ranges from 70 to 400 mW. At saturation, the SBS reflectivity was approx. 65%. The reflected Stokes radiation was found to retain, perfectly, the linear polarization of the incident pump.
