Abstract
Complexes of substituted p-nitrosoanilines with metal halides have been prepared and studied by solid state CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy. The 13C and 15N NMR spectra give information concerning the structural changes that occur in the C-nitrosoligand on coordination to metals. Supplementary information is provided in some cases by 119Sn and 113Cd NMR spectra and also by Mössbauer spectroscopy for Sn complexes. It is shown that it is not possible to distinguish between sN and sO coordination on the basis of IR spectroscopy. © 1994.
