Abstract

The internal instability of a composite of an arbitrary laminated structure with cracks between layers is discussed. The exact statement of the problem is formulated for the case of compressible elastic isotropic and orthotropic layers in compression along cracks. This exact statement is based on the model of piecewise-homogeneous medium and equations of the three-dimensional linearized theory of deformable bodies stability (TLTDBS) [1]. The evaluation for critical loading parameters is suggested and substantiated. Numerical results for the upper and the lower limits of the proposed evaluation as well as for the case of the microcrack between the layers are obtained.
