Abstract

A combination of complementary ligands, p-tert-butylcalix[8]arene (TBC[8]) and phenyl salicylaldoxime (Ph-saoH(2)) have been utilised in the facile synthesis of a (MnMnIV)-Mn-III dimer. Magnetic measurements reveal ferromagnetic exchange between the two metal ions.
