    Abstract

    The paper compared the efficiency of different methods for decreasing the amount of base shear. Based on the differential equation of motion three different parameters can be investagted to decrease the amount of base shear. Mass, damping and stiffness variations using light weight materials, viscous dampers amd base isolators respectively compared in general this paper.
