Abstract
The use of compact heat exchangers for both single- and two-phase applications in the process industries is being actively encouraged. In this paper the benefits of compact heat exchangers, as well as their limitations, will be briefly reviewed; followed by a description of a number of types of compact heat exchanger, some well-established and others relative newcomers to the market. © 1994.
