Abstract
This paper presents novel folded-waveguide resonators with compact sizes. The concept of folded standing waves of a TE101 mode is introduced. The novel realizations of half-wavelength and quarter-wavelength resonators of this type are described. Full-wave EM simulations have been carried out to verify the mode operation. A demonstrator of folded-waveguide quarter-wavelength resonator has been designed, fabricated and tested. Experimental results are presented to validate the simulation and to showing some interesting and useful characteristics.
