Abstract

We have fabricated three Tm3+ and Yb3+ co-doped air-clad fibres with varying Yb:Tm ratio. We have studied the 2 µm lasing in a simple cavity and have shown improved performance for increased Yb:Tm ratio. ©2010 IEEE.
