Abstract

Some numerical studies are reported of solutions of the sine-Gordon equation with damping and a mixture of two types of driving force: a constant (dc) force and a spatially inhomogeneous force varying harmonically (ac) in time. For some ranges of parameters the excitation of kink-antikink pairs is chaotic. © 1981.
