Abstract
This case study describes a simulation-based approach to Education for Sustainable Development in which postgraduate students use the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator to develop and analyse freight decarbonisation scenarios. Students explore interacting climate-policy interventions, compare alternative scenarios and relate their findings to national policy contexts. The assessment develops systems thinking, climate-policy literacy, critical reflection and evidence-based decision-making while making complex issues such as externalities, policy trade-offs and temperature pathways more tangible. The approach demonstrates how simulation-based learning can prepare students to address sustainability challenges in logistics, government and consultancy
