CARBON FIBRE SENSORS.

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

A tactile sensor has been constructed utilising the variation in contact resistance between carbon fibres and a metal contact. Repeatability and accuracy are not high, but with suitable encapsulation and circuitry a very robust independent sensor has been produced. Feed back can take the form either of a continuous variation in resistance or discrete changes in LED illumination.
