We extend the iterative method suggested by Hochstrasser et al. by using spectral collocation methods coupled with path-following techniques. The resulting scheme is very accurate and efficient, even for narrow pulses, and makes it possible to calculate a whole family of solitary wave solutions as a parameter (such as the velocity of the pulse) is varied. © 1990.
