Abstract

An analytic approach to the calculation of error-free seconds in xDSL systems corrupted by impulse noise is outlined, The impulse noise is modeled by an n-state Markov Renewal Process. it is shown that lower and upper bounds can be calculated, A realistic estimate can also be obtained. Analytic results are compared with empirical results.
