Building resilience in organisations through hybrid work model

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

This chapter aims to discuss how organisations can build resilience by embracing the hybrid work model, which offers the flexibility and agility necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing world. It explores the evolution of work models, from traditional 9–5 schedules to fully remote setups, and examines how hybrid work models can integrate the best aspects of both. The discussion highlights the benefits and challenges of hybrid work, providing insights into how organisations can effectively manage and lead in this new environment. It addresses the importance of developing flexible and agile work environments, focusing on the skills, processes, and leadership strategies that contribute to organisational resilience.

Real-world examples will illustrate the pitfalls of reverting to traditional work models and underscore the advantages of maintaining a hybrid approach. The chapter emphasizes that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, advocating for tailored strategies that meet the unique needs of each organisation and its employees. In addition, the role of technology in enabling hybrid work and enhancing organisational resilience is discussed, along with the potential for hybrid models to contribute to sustainability and adapt to future generations and technological advancements.
